Implementation of a regular reporting mechanism which provides analytical assessment of the Tacis Programme and individual projects implemented in Kazakstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Mongolia, Tadjikistan (until the suspension of Tacis) in all sectors, thus allowing all involved parties to make promptly the necessary adjustments to ensure that the projects remain on course and reach their objectives and to evaluate whether the Tacis Programme achieves its objectives.

The overall objective of the Euro-Arab Mashreq Gas Market project is to contribute to the integration of the gas markets of Egypt, Lebanon ad Syria in view of creating a regional internal gas market to be integrated with the EU internal Gas Market:
The general objectives include:
•   Contributing to the completion of key connecting infrastructures in the region (Arab Gas Pipeline, other interconnecting infrastructures, etc.);
•   Promoting the use of gas in industries, commercial buildings, and possibly other sectors;

This project is implemented in the framework of the contract-frame with the European Commission in the sector of energy (Framework Contract, Lot-4), that aims at the rapid benefit of technical aid in third countries in the above sectors. The aim of particular work is the scientific support to the European Commission, to assist the Republic of Moldova in the preparation of the Sector Budget Support Programme for energy under the National Action Programme 2009.The project will support local authorities on administrative and managerial issues.

The main objective of the Greek e-Government Service Provision and Interoperability Framework is to effectively support the provision of e-Government Services at Central, Local and Municipal level and to contribute to achieve interoperability in terms of information systems, processes and data.

As the Project’s Platform is deployed, the information required from the involved parties is gathered and the technical policies, the (data and metadata) standards and the specifications traversing the Greek Public Administration are issued, accompanied by relevant training material.

Both the models concerning the future climate evolution and its impacts, as well as the models assessing the costs and benefits associated with different mitigation pathways face a high degree of uncertainty. There is an urgent need to not only understand the costs and risks associated with climate change but also the risks, uncertainties and co-effects related to different mitigation pathways as well as public acceptance (or lack thereof) of low-carbon (technology) options.

The overall objective of the Interim Evaluation (IE) facility is to help enhance the relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, impact and accountability of pre-accession assistance.

The Kyoto Protocol sets legally binding emission targets for GHGs, which apply to industrialised countries. To reach the targets, countries may a.o. use JI and CDM to acquiring emission rights through investment in projects abroad. The political process of designing JI and CDM will require continuous input from science and practice. A crucial issue is the calculation of GHG abatement achieved via JI or CDM. For this a baseline has to be determined of what the GHG emissions would have amounted to if the project and not taken place.

The“BUILD UP Skills - Greek platform and Roadmap for the building workforce qualification on energy efficiency and renewable energy (BUS-GR)” project, within the European Intelligent Energy for Europe program, should trigger processes to gather all relevant stakeholders in Greece and should result in a strategy and roadmap on quantified needs, measures, priorities and accreditation for building professionals (craftsmen and other on-site workers), with a duration of 18 months.
