Promoting Deeper EU-GCC Relations” is an action funded by the European Commission, Service for Foreign Policy Instruments, suggesting specific steps to reinforce cooperation between EU and GCC in a number of key strategic areas of mutual interest. More specifically, the action’s objectives comprise the:
• Building and widening of existing networks of persons dedicated to the promotion of EU-GCC relations;
• Provision of concrete policy recommendations on ways towards expansion and improvement on current areas of cooperation;
• Public engagement into discussions regarding the status of relations through its various dissemination activities;
• Contribution to research regarding the ways that current cooperation levels can be enhanced and obstacles can be overcome.The main results which are expected to arise from the implementation of the action include:
• Building and widening of existing networks of persons dedicated to the promotion of EU-GCC relations;
• Provision of concrete policy recommendations on how to expand and improve on current areas of cooperation between the EU and the GCC;
• Engagement of wide areas of the public into discussions about the status of relations through the various dissemination activities;
• Contribution to a more substantive research that can suggest ways by which current levels of cooperation can be enhanced or how present obstacles can be overcome.
