The transmission of information and data is becoming easier and more frequent by the day. Many advantages and facilitations arise from this development, but also many dangers and concerns. This has led to an increased need of improved information security.
The DSS Lab participates and manages multiple major research, innovation, consultative and development projects, collaborating with several major Greek, European and international organisations. As such, Information Security is of the utmost importance for the laboratory, as it must protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of not only information it owns or processes, but also that which may be provided by partners or created within these projects. For this reason, it has developed an Information Security Management System (ISMS) which was officially certified adhering to the ISO 27001:2103 standard.
Both the development of the ISMS and the certification yielded various benefits and improvements for the DSS Lab. Some of the most important ones are:
➣ It assures compliance with all legal, regulatory, business and contractual requirements.
➣ It increases resilience to cyber attacks
➣ It protects the confidentiality, availability and integrity of information
➣ It secures information in all its forms
➣ It improves the organisation’s response to the ever-evolving security threats
➣ It enables the DSS Lab to participate in projects in which the certification is mandatory or a significant asset
All those benefits greatly increase the trustworthiness of DSS Lab and prove that it can be a credible and reliable partner.
