The project’s objective is the development of a Study Report for the analysis and evaluation of economic and social benefits from the surge protection of internal electrical installations. The project’s aim is the identification, record and detailed analysis of the technical and social parameters – impacts due to malfunctions of the residential and commercial consumers’ electronic and electrical equipment. This activity will contribute to the determination of impacts’ potential, relevant socio - economic costs’ estimation, as well as drafting proposals, guidelines and procedures for the surge protection system.The expected results of the project are:
• Detailed mapping of the current status (legislation and standards, trends in the European Union, technological advance);
• Identification and evaluation of the parameters – impacts (technical and social);
• Estimation of the relevant socio – economic costs;
Decision Matrix creation, including the impacts’ potential and relevant socio – economic costs, as well as guidelines – procedures for the surge protection system.
