The main objective of the Greek e-Government Service Provision and Interoperability Framework is to effectively support the provision of e-Government Services at Central, Local and Municipal level and to contribute to achieve interoperability in terms of information systems, processes and data. The vision of the e-Government Service Provision and Interoperability Framework is to facilitate government in adapting to the digital era with the introduction of technical policies and specifications for achieving Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems coherence across the public sector (G2G – Government-to-Government) and between the State and citizens (G2C – Government-to-Citizens) or businesses (G2B – Government-to-Business).
The Greek eGIF contributes to all layers of interoperability since it provides: a Services Repository with process models for the resolution of organizational interoperability, a XML Schemas and Core Components Repository addressing the semantic interoperability and a Web Services Repository and Technical Standards included in its specifications that relate to the resolution of the technical interoperability.
As the Project’s Platform will be deployed, the information required from the involved parties will be gathered and the technical policies, the (data and metadata) standards and the specifications traversing the Greek Public Administration will be issued, accompanied by relevant educational material.
