The ReBoat project has been featured in Athens Voice, one of Greece’s leading media outlets, in an article titled “ReBoat: A Vessel That May Change Island Life Forever” (available in Greek).
This media coverage was made possible through the outreach efforts of ReBoat’s Greek partner, the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA).
Among the key aspects covered are:
- How ReBoat brings the solution to the waste
- Why islands like Corfu, Lipari and Terceira were chosen as pilots
- The mobile, modular recycling unit and its circular economy approach
- The community co-creation model involving residents, tourists, artists and designers
The unique two-phase model: the unit first operates as a mobile industrial recycling plant, then transforms into an open creative workshop and festival, where anyone can see, touch and take part in the full material cycle, from waste to new product
