The overall motivation of the APRAISE (Assessment of Policy Interrelationships and Impact on Sustainability in Europe) project is to improve the decision basis for EU and national policy makers for selecting an efficient environmental policy mix leading to the transition towards a sustainable European society, including appropriate support for environmental investments. The Project’s specific objectives include the following: A better understanding of the efficiency, efficacy and effectiveness of different sustainability-related policy tools. Inclusion of policy interrelationships (synergies and trade-offs) into efficiency assessment and policy design.Development of an improved methodological framework for the ex-post and ex-ante assessment of environmental policies and policy mixes based on a review and expansion of existing approaches.
