D-NAVIO ("Digital Ship") is a Horizon Europe research and innovation project that develops an Intelligent Digital Twin: a next-generation "digital clone of ships" that combines explainable AI, self-healing technologies and advanced risk models to forecast and prevent failures on large, complex vessels such as cruise ships and container carriers. By integrating cyber and physical risk into a unified framework, the project aims to make maritime transport safer, smarter and more sustainable across the entire vessel lifecycle.
DIAMATIX, a D-NAVIO partner bringing strong expertise in cybersecurity operations, cyber-risk management and compliance, uses the article to spotlight how secure-by-design approaches are essential to the future of digital shipping. Their contribution helps ensure that the "digital clone of the ship" is not only intelligent and predictive, but also resilient against evolving cyber threats.
