AEGIS, brings together the data, the network & the technologies to create a curated, semantically enhanced, interlinked & multilingual repository for public & personal safety-related big data. It delivers a data-driven innovation that expands over multiple business sectors & takes into consideration structured, unstructured & multilingual datasets, rejuvenates existing models and facilitates organisations in the PSPS linked sectors to provide better & personalised services to their users.
AEGIS aims to roll out a completely new value chain of interrelated data streams, related to PSPS issues, coming from diverse sectors and languages. In order to achieve this target, AEGIS is performing the following actions:
- Brings together a multi-segment community able to create a unified Big Data repository that addresses all the 5 Vs, for PSPS related data
- Incorporates different types of stakeholders for both providing and consuming data
- Leverages modern Big Data and Linked Data infrastructures and technologies in order to create a market-ready technological offer
- Introduces a new shared value economic principle for data sharing and seamless integration functionalities in a secure environment under clear terms.
As a result, AEGIS will revolutionise the way PSPS organisations and stakeholders work, showcasing how a huge but at the same time realistic economic, societal and environmental impact can be achieved by introducing a new economy of knowledge principle.
