Overall objective: EC external assistance to Asia and Central Asia is increasingly effective and accountable. Project purpose: To gather results-oriented information on projects and programmes and to report on progress in order to maintain and, where possible, improve the quality of external co-operation activities in Asia and Central Asia through timely, independent, well targeted information on implementation.

Project monitoring provides a regular reporting mechanism for the preparation and submission of analytical assessments to management and other involved parties, thus enabling focused management decisions to be taken in order to (a) ensure that projects remain on course to reach their objectives, with any adjustments being made with minimal disruption; (b) support regular reporting mechanisms incl.

The purpose of this programme is to enhance the capacity of public institutions to make a more efficient and more intensive use of empirical evidence when formulating national and local policies and for the purpose of allocating public resources.
