Results-oriented monitoring of operations financed by the European Community under the Facility for rapid response to soaring food prices in developing countries (Food Facility)

The overall project objective is to contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the European Commission’s Food Facility instrument. The Project Purpose is to ascertain whether the objectives of the Food Facility have been met and to formulate recommendations with a view to improving relevant future development cooperation operations.Clear, objective, well-targeted, consistent and user friendly information on project/ programme implementation and recommendations for improvement, provided to EC Management (Food Facility Task Force –FFTF-) in standard templates.
Information (including statistics and customised analyses) provided through Special Reports to EC Management on: best practices/ common mistakes; recommendations for improvement; performance of the Portfolio managed by the FFTF; cross-cutting issues (as in the European Consensus); (if so required) regions / countries, sectors, specific topics.
The ROM results disseminated through seminars and the effective/ efficient use of the ROM outputs enhanced through hands-on assistance to their recipients and to other donors and/or stakeholders in the regions/ countries where the Food Facility projects are implemented (by order/approval of the FFTF).
The competent EC Services supported in further developing the ROM system and/or of specific methodologies/tools for improving the effectiveness of the ROM system in the area of Food Security.
